Bio: Samanthia Rousos is a certified Lean Six Sigma Kaizen Leader and Process Improvement Manager for ProMedica Laboratories since May 2013. Prior to joining the health care industry at ProMedica, she worked for local Fortune 500 glass bottle manufacturer Owens-Illinois, Inc. serving in a variety of capacities over 19 years. In 1997, she was appointed senior financial and budget analyst of the Glass division immediately upon completion of her MBA (cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame. She was soon asked to join Corporate Planning to engage in and manage acquisition and divestiture activity for the company from 1999-2004. She then was assigned global leadership positions in Procurement for molds (2005), then for energy (2006-2010). Samanthia initiated global procurement initiatives in addition to executing futures market transactions for natural gas and in deregulated markets for electricity. In her ensuing years with Lean Six Sigma for O-I, she coached Green Belts, taught Yellow Belt courses, and facilitated process change via Kaizen events at a pace of 1 per month across several divisions and businesses. Ms. Rousos most recently served as the ProMedica Laboratories Project Manager for the physical move and consolidation of clinical and anatomic business units to a new laboratory facility in March 2018. She was awarded ProMedica’s Platinum award for her efforts in a move that supported continued operations and zero lost specimens. In addition to her MBA, Ms. Rousos is a 1991 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a BS in Systems Engineering. She was awarded the Navy Achievement medal while serving at Ingleside Naval Base in Texas. She has previously served on the boards of Nextronex, a solar panel power inverter manufacturer, the Toledo Repertoire Theatre (as President 2015-2017) and is currently a board member for the Sylvania Community Arts Commission. Samanthia is an accomplished performer in the arts community, an avid swimmer with Sylvania Masters and a proud mother of two teenage sons.
