Bio: Patricia (Trish) Nortmann, MBA, MT(ASCP)Offering over 30 years experience in Laboratory Medicine with St. Elizabeth Healthcare; a five-hospital system serving the communities throughout Northern Kentucky. After many years working in and managing the Transfusion Services, Immunology Lab and Reference Processing for St. Elizabeth Healthcare, 2014 brought the opportunity for a Site Director role at the Core Laboratory in Edgewood KY. Transformation to automation, increased auto-verification and in-sourcing of testing were primary initiatives. 2016- Present: Serving as the System Director of Laboratory Services for St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood KY. In 2017, represented St. Elizabeth Healthcare in an initiative with the Kentucky Health Collaborative (KHC) to secure a Reference Lab Contract for the eight participating Hospitals in Kentucky. Our work provided cost savings for all members. Most members recognized over 20% reduction in Reference Lab costs in 2018.2018-Present; Additionally serving as the Director of Preferred Lab Partners, LLC, a Joint Venture Lab Outreach Testing Center for St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood KY and TriHealth in Cincinnati, OH. In 9 months current Lab space was transformed to accommodate new volumes, new staff, new test menu, added equipment/automation. We’ve only just begun to see the fruits of our labors. Advocate of Change Management and Continual Process and Quality Improvement initiatives: The greatest gifts are the openness to listen, the emergence of new leaders and the drive of a team to accomplish something uniquely impactful through collaboration and partnerships.
