Marian Fortmann

Bio: Marian Fortmann MS, MT(ASCP)SBB is a Laboratory professional who has incorporated her dedication to quality, efficiency and service excellence throughout her career. Her experience includes leading clinical, pathology and tissue banking laboratories in both individual and system hospital settings. Using Lean/ 3P, she has led multiple laboratory build projects, from design, implementation, logistics, and validation. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve laboratory service levels while improving cost savings, employee engagement and efficiency are key features of Marian’s professional history. Marian is very proud of giving back to her profession with consistent involvement in professional development and education on national, state and local levels. Marian earned her B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science from Daemen College in Amherst, NY and her M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She graduated the Specialist in Blood Bank program at the American Red Cross in Southern California before obtaining her national certification as an SBB.
