Jean Hammelev
Bio: Jean Hammelev is Vice President, Operational Excellence, for Sonora Quest Laboratories, LLC (SQL) a joint venture between Quest Diagnostics (a Fortune 500 company) and Banner Health (the largest non-secular health delivery system in the U.S.) and for Laboratory Sciences of Arizona, LLC providing oversight and strategic direction for 29 Hospital, Rapid Response, and Commercial laboratories supporting Banner Health Hospitals, Academic Medical Centers and Cancer Centers across the state of Arizona and 5 western states (California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, and Wyoming). Jean began her career in Phoenix as a Cytotechnologist, screening microscopic slides for cancer. Jean has been with LSA/SQL for 30 years and has held numerous leadership positions. In March of 2000, Jean was named Executive Director of Quality and became a member of LSA’s Senior Leadership Team. As Vice President, Operational Analytics, she is responsible for organizational Total Quality Management (Regulatory and Performance Excellence), Enterprise PMO, and Operational Analytics. Jean has led her organization’s strategic planning process and was promoted to Vice President in 2015. Jean holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cytotechnology from the University Of North Dakota School Of Medicine and Health Sciences, Grand Forks, and a Master of Business Administration – Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix. Jean is a member of the ASCP, American College of Healthcare Executives, Arizona Healthcare Executives and is a senior member of the American Society for Quality. In 2013, Jean was recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of the “Top 25 Dynamic Women in Business.”
