Bio: Irene Dusich is manager of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory for NorthShore University HealthSystem at Evanston Hospital since 2005. An ASCP registered medical technologist with a specialty certification in Microbiology, she has 37 years of experience in clinical microbiology. In 1987 she took the position as Technical Specialist in Microbiology for Community Hospital in Munster, IN. There she coordinated the consolidation of three hospital microbiology laboratories into one core Microbiology Department to become the Community Healthcare System.
Dusich is a graduate of Purdue University. She holds memberships in the Illinois Society for Microbiology (ISM), the South Central Association for Clinical Microbiology (SCACM), and the American Society for Microbiology (ASM). She is the President-Elect of ISM.
