Douglas C. Wood
Bio: Douglas Wood is the President of DC Wood Consulting, LLC and is a member of the ASQ Quality Management Division. His firm has worked with clients in manufacturing, healthcare, and transactional businesses. He has more than 30 years of experience in industrial engineering and quality. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Western Michigan University and completed a master’s degree in industrial management at the University of Central Missouri. He has taught over 100 classes in root cause analysis, performance measurement, Lean, Six Sigma, cost of quality, statistics, failure modes and effects analysis, and inspection and supplier quality control.
In addition to his ASQ certifications, Wood has passed the Lean Bronze certification examination with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He has been an examiner with the Kansas and Missouri quality awards. He authored The Executive Guide to Understanding and Implementing Quality Cost Programs, (ASQ Press, 2007); he edited Principles of Quality Cost: Financial Measures for Strategic Implementation of Quality Management, 4th ed. (ASQ Press, 2013); and he contributed to The Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence Handbook, 4th ed. (ASQ Press, 2014).
