Jordan Olson

Bio: Jordan Olson is currently the medical director for clinical pathology informatics, the medical director of Preanalytic services, and the medical director for the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital laboratory. After growing up in northern Wisconsin, he did his undergraduate and medical school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He came to Penn State as a surgery resident for two years, but became fascinated with system level-changes and informatics. He switched residencies to pathology in order to gain tools to work on hospital-wide and system-wide issues. He completed a residency in clinical pathology and a fellowship in transfusion medicine while at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, focusing on informatics related issues. At the Geisinger Health system he performs clinical work on the transfusion medicine and apheresis services. His interests include laboratory quality improvement through informatics tools, and laboratory efficiency through automation.
